Meet Eh Man, Liquids Batch Maker

Meet Eh Man, Liquids Batch Maker at our Essex, Vermont manufacturing facility.

What kind of education or career training did you have?
I graduated from Winooski High School in 2017. I took digital media classes at Burlington Tech Center. We learned film and video editing, and worked with different editing software.

What has your career path looked like?
After I graduated from high school, I reached out to Adecco to learn more about open positions through their staffing agency. They placed me at Twincraft as a Production Operator at our Winooski facility where I was packing soap, operating presses, and helping out wherever needed. A couple of months after starting that role, I began training as a Production Lead. In that job, I was helping to coordinate staff, check for the quality of the soap, filling out paperwork, and working in our Inventory software, Epicor. I worked in that role for about a year, and wanted to learn more pieces to the soap making process. I began training as a Process Technician where I operated extrusion machines, and made sure the soap was running properly through the line from where it starts in the batch area.

To continue my growth at Twincraft, I was put on a project that focused on keeping our sample library up to date. I used all of our different dies to replicate all of the different products that we have the capability to manufacture.

As far as where I am at now, I am currently a 2nd shift Liquids Batch Maker at our Essex facility. I was working at our liquids location on a temporary basis, and realized that the liquids process really interested me, and was so different than making bar soap. I make batches of all different types of products, from body wash to deodorant, lip balm, and lots of other stuff.

What does a normal week at Twincraft look like for you?
I don’t know if I would say that I have a normal week at Twincraft most of the time. We are constantly batching something different, while problem solving and coming up with creative ideas along the way. I actually really enjoy that no week is the same for me because it keeps things interesting and makes me think. There is always something to do to keep things clean and ready, like organizing the batch room and cleaning the kettles.

What's your favorite part about your job?
My favorite part is when I finish making a batch because it can be a long process, so finally getting to that end product is very rewarding.

What do you wish more people knew about Twincraft?
The process to make so many of our products is something I didn’t know anything about, and didn’t really even know existed. I think it’s so interesting, so I would tell other people about that.

What surprises you most about what we do at Twincraft?
There are so many different positions and opportunities that you can learn and do in both Winooski and Essex.

Where is your favorite place to eat in Winooski?
Honestly my favorite place to eat is McDonalds, I am a huge fan of the McChicken. The #23 is my go to because I love spicy food.

What's your favorite way to spend a Summer Friday?
For sure fishing in the summer, and I do miss going out in downtown Burlington, especially Red Square.

Bar soap or body wash?
Bar soap. Coconut Shea Moisture and BBW is my go to.

If you could formulate any personal care product for us to make, what would it be?
I would like to make hair products for men because I have long hair.

Winter or summer in Vermont?
Of course the summer, who would say winter??
