Did you know that we recycle the soap scraps from bar soap manufacturing?

At Twincraft, we take sustainability seriously. From seeking out sustainable ingredients and packaging options to making our manufacturing process more environmentally friendly, we are always looking for ways to improve our environmental footprint. While we try to minimize the amount of waste we produce, there are inevitably some soap scraps left over from each production run, which led us to search for a solution to keep this waste out of our landfills.

In December of 2018, we began a partnership with Clean the World to recycle bar soap waste from our manufacturing facility. This has flourished into a wonderful ongoing partnership, and we are proud to be diverting soap waste from our local landfills while also helping those in need.

Clean the World is a global leader in environmental and social impact solutions, aiming to make the world a better place by transforming soap scraps into lifesaving, essential supplies for communities in need across the globe.

Soap scraps from our manufacturing facility are sent to Clean the World, where they grind the soap into pellets and refine them to eliminate any foreign particles. The pellets are then sterilized, refined again, and manufactured into brand-new, 1.75 oz bars of soap. These new bars are distributed through Clean the World’s programs, where 1 bar of soap = 100 hand washes.

To date, Twincraft has sent over 1.5 million pounds of soap to Clean the World to be recycled – that’s over 11.5 million bars of soap that have been distributed to communities in need!
