TWINCRAFT SOAP OFFERS SUSTAINABLE SOAP BASE

WINOOSKI, VT – Twincraft Soap Company now offers an innovative new soap base that is a blend of rapeseed and coconut oils. ECO R is derived from sustainable resources and is completely free of preservatives or chelating agents such as EDTA.

“We developed this base as an alternative to bases derived from palm oil and tallow,” said Jim Howard, Twincraft’s VP of Sales. “We wanted to offer our customers a soap base that comes from sustainable sources yet still meets the performance and quality standards we set forth for all our other bases.”

Soap base is key in the manufacturing of bar soap as it can make up anywhere from 95% to 100% of a bar of soap.

“ECO R is 100% natural, and 100% vegetable based. There are no animal by-products in this soap base such as you would find in a tallow base,” says Curt Durfee, Twincraft’s Director of Research and Development. “And you are not sacrificing performance; ECO R produces a rich lather and luxurious foam.”

Twincraft already has customers committed to the base. Bar soap made with ECO R will start hitting store shelves by the end of 2010.
